unit

SLIMS keeps track of various units for comparing and analyzing data. Units are defined by their name, the type of unit be it mass, volume, etc. The parent units type and the conversion to the parent type are specified to facilitate automatic conversions between data.

Note: currently SLIMS doesn't handle conversion of data and the unit table is a placeholder for future analysis modules. This mostly affects dilution series where all data has to be specified using the same unit.
