Tutorials

SLIMS includes several tutorials to walk novice users through some of the more complicated aspects such as loading compounds and plates into the database.  The walkthroughs of these tutorials are included in this section but can be completed by loading the appropriate tutorial database.

When a tutorial database is opened, the associated tutorial will automatically be opened to help guide you through the process.  These databases include all the information required to run through the tutorials and you will not need to log in or supply a password.

Some tutorials require additional data such as compound or plate files.  When you browse for these files, you will automatically begin in the appropriate folder.  Additionally, the location of these folders will be indicated in the tutorial themselve ( This is true only f you install SLIMS into the default installation directory.)

Because these tutorials modify the test databases, you might not be able to follow each tutorial twice.  If you would like to rerun a specific tutorial, you must down load the tutorial installer from http://slims.sourceforge.net/ and re-install the tutorial databases.
